Mr. L Shop Smarts #016

As the year begins to wind down, many of you are looking for short term projects to complete. Sometimes finding the right short term project can be difficult. You don’t want to start something too complicated, but you also want something that is slightly challenging and can be completed in just a couple of weeks. While there are many small projects out there to choose from, I thought I’d share this rather elegant 3D printed lamp shade tutorial.

The tutorial comes straight from Autodesk Fusion’s Youtube channel, and is a good example of modeling using the Hybrid method. The model geometry can be adapted to fit any type of pendant you find online or in store to use with the shade. You can also modify the geometry to give it your own personal touch. Check out the video, and let me know what you think. Maybe everybody should have their own personal lamp shade at their desk…

If you need ideas for other short term projects, there are some simple lathe and mill projects for those who want to cut some metal.

Thank you for not reading this.
