Mr. L Shop Smarts #015

This week I have a quick Shop Smarts read for you all. During last week I put together a short 3D Printer Guide for the 2 Bambu Lab printers we have in the shop. It is important to know the difference between the 2 machines and what their different capabilities are should you need them. The guide will help you learn to use either machine, however, it by no means goes into depth of all the tools available to you within the Bambu Studio slicing software.

The printer we’ve had for some time is the Bambu Lab X1 Carbon. It’s a workhorse of a printer, and will give you great results for 99.9% of the prints we do in the shop. Note, this printer uses a 0.4mm nozzle, which is quite standard for most 3D printers. The build plate of this printer is slightly smaller than our new printer.

The newest printer to our setup is the Bambu Lab H2C. The machine itself is much larger, with more buildspace in the X, Y, and Z directions. Additionally, this machine allows you to choose between different size nozzles. For larger prints you can choose a 0.6mm nozzle, and for smaller, more detailed prints, a 0.2mm nozzle is available. You, of course, can also choose the traditional 0.4mm nozzle for this machine.

For either machine, please follow the guide, which is a Shortcut on the computer Desktop. Please provide me with feedback about the guide so I can update it and make it more useful for each of you.

If you have additional questions about the Bambu Lab printers, you can also access their Wiki for reference.
