While there was a lot of great work happening in the shop this week, we decided to give the students a break from writing blog posts and let them focus on their work. Student blog posts will start again next week.
A couple of highlights from the week were Junior Tim Hunt’s work on the large Steady Rest for the lathe. Tim is building a large Steady Rest in order to turn a new cylinder for the updated ROV. It’s been a major undertaking, and is finally nearing completion.
Junior Lila Graham is getting close to finishing the shelf project, while Junior Sydney Hamel has just about completed the bluetooth speakers powered by vape batteries.
The sophomores are just about ready to mill their PCBs for the LED Lightbox project, while our Freshmen powered through circuitry guides with Mr. Christy.
So much great work going on – we look forward to sharing student blog posts again next week.
