I hope everybody had a relaxing weekend. Here are a few brief items to hopefully help you be more successful in the shop.
In a previous post I mentioned the latest update to Autodesk Fusion regarding the new workflows for Part, Assembly, and Hybrid designs. I discovered a new video that breaks the general ideas down between these modeling types in a very helpful way. Please take a look so you can better understand the differences in these workflows. As a reminder, the most familiar workflow to you will be the Hybrid design.
Are you looking for a project to get you into the Machine Shop? We have Steam Engine kits that are for beginners, and are a great way to learn how to do some basic machining steps – plus you get a real working engine when you are done. Looking for something easier? How about making a custom ring or a Turner’s Cube? All very easy, and simple ways to start making chips in the shop. Please let me know if you are interested.
We’ve had a student building speakers recently and they needed to create a speaker cover. There are many different ways to do this, but I wanted to show a video that makes this easy, and gives you a solid method for making pattern cutouts for your projects. Take a look at this video and let me know if you find it helpful.
Well, that’s all for this week. Thank you for not reading this.
