Mr. L Shop Smarts #007

Only a few more weeks until our April break! Until then, lets enjoy our next round of insight. Hopefully you find these helpful – especially those looking for some work this summer.

Are you looking for a summer internship? Do you know we actually have a Co-op coordinator here at the Vocational school who can offer advice and help with your search. Mrs. Holly Farnum is the vocational school co-op coordinator, but also helps students find internships. Mrs. Farnum recently reached out to me and let me know about the StandOut Search website, which is a database of internships. Choose Massachusetts as your location in the dropdown menu and see if there is anything interesting. Note, these are not specific to Engineering so you’ll have to do some digging. Let us know if we can help!

Ever tried bringing in an image file into Fusion that you then had to tediously trace with linework in order to export a file for lasercutting or water jetting? It’s time consuming and frustrating. Well, Fusion has now added a 3rd Party AI plugin called Project Salvador that will actually trace images for you – much like the way Inkscape does it. Watch this brief video about how it works. You will need to install the plugin as well, let me know and I can help you. I’m interested to see if any of you find this plugin helpful.

Did you know you can hold down shift to help find the midpoint of a line. Take a look at this in action in this video. When using the coincident constraint you can use the Shift key to help locate the midpoint of a line. I’ve found this to be pretty handy at times.

Thank you for not reading this.
