We hope you all have a restful break during the upcoming holiday. This coming week is short, and we will not have a blog post following the break. Posts will continued the week after. Now, here is a short look at the work done in the shop last week.
Senior Wil Tseng worked on several projects.
I forgot images. Due to a wait on material needed for my project, I decided to get some cleaning done. I started the week by helping a sophomore (Andrew) with finishing up his turners cube. After we got that done, I cleaned up the Laser Wood Storage, Laser Acrylic Storage, and my box. I also got my PPE (Gloves and Safety glasses) cleaned off, and remade a broken sign for the 2nd floor vocational hallway.

Junior Echo Valdez-Melgar continued working on video game props.
This week I started on a new project that’s a lot more complicit than I originally thought. I started to make a prop from a video game I’ve spent so much time on, Destiny 2. Specifically, the seasonal artifact Hunter’s Journal. I mostly just been modeling it in CAD this whole week, It’s a simple yet complicated design.
While I’ve been modeling, I’ve also been planning how I’m going do the electronic side of the project; I have a few ideas. I know I want to use an OLED Display for the little screen on the strange device on the inside of the journal (I don’t know what it’s called). I also want to use a Piezo Speaker and some LEDs as well. I have an idea and all the parts I want to use, it’s just figuring out how I want them laid out and how to add them to the base of the journal.
I plan to just finishing the model this week and do some more planning before tackling the electronics next week.

The Sophomore’s continued work on CAD guides during the week. They were also prepping for their upcoming LED Lightbox project, which will begin once we come back from our short break.
All for now!
