This was the last week for our Seniors to be in the shop. Thank you to Jason, Isaiah, Anthony, Nate, Cormac, John, Shubh, and Roman for being a part of the Engineering & Robotics program at Medford Vocational Technical High School. You guys worked on so many interesting projects, some that will be around for many years to come. Mr. Christy and I wish each of you the best in whatever you choose to do next. Be sure to come back and visit us!
In addition to saying goodbye to our seniors, we had our Sumobot contest on Friday. This was the best group of bots we’ve seen in many years, so we were excited for the action in the ring. There was some fierce fighting in the preliminary bouts, but it eventually came down to two serious contenders in the final: K&B v Herman. In the end, Herman was victorious, and the event was celebrated by all the students in the shop. Thank you to all the sophomores for the hardwork and dedication they put into making their bots!
The Freshmen continued learning CAD during the week as well. Unfortunately, they missed out on our pizza party Thursday. The pizza party was for winning the Can Drive a few months ago. Thank you to Chefs Matt and Ethan @mhs_bistro489 for making the pizzas. The freshmen will move back to coding before getting into the machine shop during the last weeks of school.
